Among the first in the nation for Vascular Verification
Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Plano is among the first hospitals in the country to achieve certification through the ACS/SVS Vascular Verification Program (VVP), with our Dallas location following closely behind. Our Plano location will be one of the first in the country to receive recertification.

Leadership at the national level
William P. Shutze, MD, has been elected Vice President of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS). Through leadership in the organization responsible for shaping clinical guidelines and standards in vascular surgery, he is helping influence the future of the specialty and improve care for patients nationwide.

Specialized expertise for thoracic outlet syndrome
Our multidisciplinary team operates the only dedicated thoracic outlet syndrome specialty clinic in the United States, bringing together specialized expertise to diagnose and treat this complex vascular condition.

Advancing care through clinical research
Our physicians are participating in ARISE II and ARISE III, clinical studies evaluating emerging endovascular approaches for complex aortic disease. These studies reflect our commitment to bringing innovative therapies to patients while helping shape the future of less-invasive aortic treatment.

In addition, our vascular team participates in several clinical trials and has authored many publications presented at national conferences.

Innovations

Expanding options for limb salvage

Joseph Liechty, MD, is now performing the new transcatheter arterialization of the deep veins (TADV) procedure using the LimFlow system for patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia who have no conventional revascularization options. This novel approach creates a new pathway for blood flow and offers a potential limb-salvage option for patients who previously had few or no alternatives.

Advancing heart failure treatment with Barostim™

In collaboration with heart failure specialists, our Dallas and Plano teams are at the forefront of Barostim™ Baroreflex Activation Therapy, which uses an implantable neuromodulation device to improve symptoms in patients with systolic heart failure.
